Hibiscus Syriacus

Rose of Sharon. For those of you wanting to use the hibiscus for edible use this is a really lovely variety. The flowers are often dried and use to decorate cakes and desert and is very popular as a tea. The flavour is similar to a mild cranberry. This variety produces open flowers of pink white and red. Although an exotic origin and the national flower of South Korea, this is a super hardy shrub that will reach a mature height of 3.5m. Full sun. Good for bees.  Medicinally is used to treat itch and other skin diseases, and dizziness.
