Lemongrass

Cymbopogon citratus. This species is a highly scented grass, known for its lemon fragrance which was predominately used to make perfumes. The leaves are yellow-green. It will prefer full sun and moist soil and unlike most grasses is not drought tolerant so ensure it is watered on a regular basis. Great for adding to stir fries and Thai cooking. Height 1.5m. As this is a tropical plant will need winter protection. Medicinally is used for nervous and gastrointestinal disorders and fevers.
