Brook Thistle is an upright perennial with decorative red thistle flower heads on tall, 4foot, high stems. Flowers early Spring to late Summer. Bees adore this plant. We call it Bee's Sunday Lunch. The flowers are so rich in nectar that the bees often fall asleep on the flower head in a little nectar coma. Best in full sun but can take part shade. Prefers a dry soil. Will not cope in damp soils.
