Basil - Cinnamon

Ocimum basilicum 'Cinnamon'. A lovely variety with strong aromatic leaves that are dark green and with age reddish purple veins appear. It will also flower on spikes with small, tubular pink-purple flowers in late summer. The flowers are also edible. Add the leaves to any sweet or savoury dish that requires cinnamon.  A great plant to keep flies away. Height 40cm. Full sun. Good for bees and butterflies.

Medicinally is used for it's anti-inflammatory and digestive aids.
