Historically we have always enjoyed holding open days here at Eagle Lodge (or John Cullen Gardens} but we were never able to facilitate regular dates for customers to visit the nursery and shop with us due to busy show schedules. However, we are delighted to announce that this all changes in 2025 and we are opening the nursery on the 1st Wednesday and 1st Saturday of every month from March to August inclusive.
In September it will be the 1st Wednesday and 2nd Saturday.
Opening times: 10.30am – 2.30pm
These open days will be more casual in format than those held previously – they are really more an opportunity to browse and purchase plants in person.
Should you wish to have a more personalised experience, we recommend that you make a group booking (minimum 4 people); please email for more details.
There are toilets for customers to use and we do make a great cuppa (tea or coffee).
If you do see something you like on the day, we have card payment facilities and accept cash.
There is no entry fee for the open days. Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash.
How to find us
We are conveniently located close to both the A17 and the A16. Archers Lane is directly off the A16. Don’t go into the village of Algarkirk, which is on the opposite side of the A16.
Once on Archers Lane, pass by the 4 semi-detached properties and we are the bungalow just after.
It’s quite difficult to see the property itself as we have so many trees and shrubs at the front so look out for the eagles flanking the gates.
You can park anywhere on the driveway, but this may mean blocking other cars in. Alternatively, you can park further down the lane where it widens at the end or, if you have a small car, alongside our wall at the front, but do remember that we have several farms at the end of the lane and a tractor needs more room than a car!
