We opened our doors recently for an open day exclusively for the Herb Society and they kindly included this fabulous write-up in their newsletter:
This is a beautiful site and to have such a personal tour was a real treat. A hidden gem, this private nursery was a tardis as we began to explore the site which John & Hugh have developed since 2015, after relocating the business from London (founded 2009). Regulars at garden shows and fairs around the country, with collaborations with the RHS and Heritage Plants too, opening the nursery more is a new venture for them, as they start to offer more events at home. The day began with us basking in the sun on the patio with great coffee, as John & Hugh shared their journey with us with such honesty and passion. By the time we started the tour we were all so relaxed and transported into a lovelier world. The garden wrapping around their house was deep and lush, spreading around to beautiful lawns, a large glass house and the nursery planters, and the chickens! Specialising in wild species that attract pollinators to create a balanced ecosystem with herbs, and perennials; we all devoured the superb collection of plants and couldn’t resist loading our shopping baskets too!. But it was the hospitality and connection with fellow “herbies” that really made it.
