Meadow cranesbill. This is the wild variety of geranium that has lovely rich blue flowers that are veined with violet. Once common through most of the UK and was found growing in hedgerows but is sadly diminishing. It's a great doer and is often mentioned in folklore as it is associated with elves and wood sprites and particularly with Robin Goodfellow the Puck of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Nights Dream. Full sun or part shade. Good for bees. Height 60cm
Medicinally used as an astringent and to relieve the pain of teething children.
