This variety of lavender is native to Madeira and the Canary Islands and is often the variety that you see across mainland Europe. The foliage is more fern like with hairy grey-green leaves and the stalks of the flowers are held on longer stems with spikes of purple-blue flowers. It dries really well so popular with florist and those who make pot-pourri which is the main reason we grow it. On the tender side (if you are not down south) so make sure it's planted in a protected spot and covered over winter.
