When I first ordered this Dahlia, it was only then that I fully comprehended the true meaning of the phrase 'a plant that transforms the character of a place'. The plant arrived impeccably packed and in superb health, and in reality, this Dahlia is quite simply magnificent – that intense, fiery orange hue set against the deep, burgundy foliage looks utterly splendid, rather like a work of art. It now resides in my garden; friends and family who come to visit always remark that the Oxford blooms have imparted a wonderful warmth, and that the entire shrub has made the surroundings feel far more inviting – and they are not mistaken. Looking at it today, as the season gently draws to a close, I still feel as though I have been gifted an endless summer within my own garden. I am someone who does not usually form attachments to flowers, yet this Dahlia, with its quiet, dignified beauty, has left my entire family and myself thoroughly captivated. Indeed, every guest now insists on taking their afternoon tea out in the garden. The plant is remarkably healthy, and I can already tell by its appearance just how splendidly plump the tubers will be for planting next year. It is, without a doubt, a truly exceptional Dahlia.
